保羅提醒羅馬教會的弟兄姐妹，
要避開背道之人。
這樣的人不服事主、只服事自己的慾望，
會離間眾人、叫人跌倒，使人違反所學的教義，
用花言巧語欺騙老實人的心。
另外，羅馬教會的弟兄姐妹的順服，
已經名聞各處，
保羅為他們高興，

因為賜平安的 神，就快要把撒但踐踏在他們腳下。

17-18One final word of counsel, friends. Keep a sharp eye out for those who take bits and pieces of the teaching that you learned and then use them to make trouble. Give these people a wide berth. They have no intention of living for our Master Christ. They're only in this for what they can get out of it, and aren't above using pious sweet talk to dupe unsuspecting innocents. Don't be gullible in regard to smooth-talking evil. Stay alert like this, and before you know it the God of peace will come down on Satan with both feet, stomping him into the dirt.
