曠野中的雷聲

約一19-28

飯團：曠野作的見證，為主修直道路，明說並不隱瞞。

所得：求神的光開啟我，除去我的蒙蔽與隱藏，使我知道自己是誰，不是誰。求主先來修正我生命中的彎曲，成為正直，以致於有一天也能為主修直道路，成為曠野中的見證。

裡面有主的光，

就有勇氣不隱瞞、不迴避，

清楚對人說明，我是誰，我不是誰。

讓主先來修正我生命中的彎曲，成為正直，

以致於有一天也能為主修直道路。

曠野中的見證，

宛如曠野中舜至的雷聲，

預告救恩的恩雨，將滋潤久旱的大地。

這雷，不挑熟悉的城鎮，也不挑出場的時機，

只忠實地發出神要它發出的聲響。

1:19   約翰所作的見證、記在下面．猶太人從耶路撒冷差祭司和利未人到約翰那裡、問他說、你是誰。
Now this was John's testimony when the Jews of Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him who he was.

1:20   他就明說、並不隱瞞．明說、我不是基督。
He did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, "I am not the Christ. "

1:21   他們又問他說、這樣你是誰呢、是以利亞麼．他說、我不是．是那先知麼、他回答說、不是。
They asked him, "Then who are you? Are you Elijah?" He said, "I am not." "Are you the Prophet?" He answered, "No."

1:22   於是他們說、你到底是誰、叫我們好回覆差我們來的人．你自己說、你是誰。
Finally they said, "Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?"

1:23   他說、我就是那在曠野有人聲喊著說、修直主的道路、正如先知以賽亞所說的。
John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, "I am the voice of one calling in the desert, 'Make straight the way for the Lord.' "

1:24   那些人是法利賽人差來的。〔或作那差來的是法利賽人〕
Now some Pharisees who had been sent

1:25   他們就問他說、你既不是基督、不是以利亞、也不是那先知、為甚麼施洗呢。
questioned him, "Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?"

1:26   約翰回答說、我是用水施洗、但有一位站在你們中間、是你們不認識的、
"I baptize with water," John replied, "but among you stands one you do not know.

1:27   就是那在我以後來的、我給他解鞋帶、也不配。
He is the one who comes after me, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie."

1:28   這是在約但河外伯大尼、〔有古卷作伯大巴喇〕約翰施洗的地方作的見證。
This all happened at Bethany on the other side of the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

【新】施洗約翰的見證（太3:1~12；可1:1~8；路3:1~18）

1:19   以下是約翰的見證：猶太人從耶路撒冷派祭司和利未人到約翰那裡，問他：“你是誰？”

1:20   約翰並不否認，坦白地承認說：“我不是基督。”

1:21   他們又問：“那麼你是誰？是以利亞嗎？”他說：“我不是。”“是那位先知嗎？”他回答：“不是。”

1:22   於是他們再問：“你是誰？好讓我們回覆派我們來的人。你說你自己是誰？”

1:23   他說：“我就是在曠野呼喊者的聲音：‘修直主的路！’正如以賽亞先知所說的。”

1:24   這些人是法利賽人派來的。

1:25   他們問約翰：“你既然不是基督，不是以利亞，也不是那位先知，那麼你為甚麼施洗呢？”

1:26   約翰回答：“我是用水施洗，但有一位站在你們中間，是你們不認識的；

1:27   他是在我以後來的，我就是給他解鞋帶也不配。”

1:25   他们诘问约翰说：「你既不是上帝所膏立者基督，又不是以利亚，也不是那位神言人，那你为什么施洗呢？」

1:26   约翰回答他们说：「我是用水施洗的；但有一位你们不认识的，站在你们中间，

1:27   就是那在我以后来的，我配不起他，去解他的鞋带的。」

1:28   这些是在约但河外的伯大尼，约翰施洗的地方，发生的。

【MSG】Thunder in the Desert

^19-20When Jews from Jerusalem sent a group of priests and officials to ask John who he was, he was completely honest. He didn't evade the question. He told the plain truth (他並沒有迴避這個問題。他說實話): "I am not the Messiah."

 ²¹They pressed him, "Who, then? Elijah?"

   "I am not."

   "The Prophet?"

   "No."

 ²²Exasperated, they said, "Who, then? We need an answer for those who sent us. Tell us something—anything!—about yourself."

 ²³"I'm thunder in the desert: 'Make the road straight for God!' I'm doing what the prophet Isaiah preached."

 ^24-25Those sent to question him were from the Pharisee party. Now they had a question of their own: "If you're neither the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet, why do you baptize?"

 ^26-27John answered, "I only baptize using water. A person you don't recognize has taken his stand in your midst. He comes after me, but he is not in second place to me. I'm not even worthy to hold his coat for him."

 ²⁸These conversations took place in Bethany on the other side of the Jordan, where John was baptizing at the time.
